Memory notice
Courtesy translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
This notice explains the memory of the LEVAMENTE guide: what it keeps, how it is used and how you control all of it. It complements the Privacy Policy.
1. What memory is
Memories are short notes about you (up to 280 characters each) that the guide can use in conversations, so that you don't have to repeat everything all over again. For example: “I prefer short exercises in the morning” or “I'm taking care of my mother”.
Memory is neither a diagnosis nor a psychological profile, and the guide does not keep anything about you without your confirmation.
2. How a memory is saved
- When you ask: when you ask to remember something (from an encounter, from one of the guide's answers or from a notebook excerpt), the app shows you the text, you confirm it and it is saved.
- When the guide suggests it: in a conversation, the guide may suggest a memory. It is only saved if you confirm it, and you can edit the text first. If the guide says it has “saved” something, that has no effect: only your confirmation counts.
- When you bring in data from a previous version of the app: the memories arrive as suggestions, for you to confirm.
Suggestions you do not confirm expire after 7 days. The guide does not repeat a suggestion you have recently declined.
3. How the guide uses memories
- When you talk with the guide, your confirmed and active memories may be sent, together with your message, to the artificial intelligence provider that generates the answer. There is a limit on the number of memories per answer.
- Paused or expired memories are not used.
- We do not use your memories for advertising or to train artificial intelligence models, and they are never shown to other people.
- The following never go into memory or into conversations with the guide: your scores from 0 to 10, the wheel of life, your use of the app, notebook content you have not shared and what you select in Encounter based on how you feel.
4. You're in control
In the app's memory area, you can:
- view all your memories;
- edit the text of a memory;
- pause a memory: it remains stored, but the guide stops using it until you resume it;
- set an expiry date: after that date, the guide stops using the memory, which remains stored until you delete it;
- delete one memory or all of them at once: they are truly deleted, and whatever the guide had prepared from them is no longer shown.
When you delete a conversation with the guide, you choose whether to also delete the memories that came from it.
5. How to turn it off
- You can turn memory off at any time in the app's privacy settings. The guide stops using your memories and suggesting new ones, and pending suggestions expire.
- Turning it off does not delete the memories already saved: they are kept for when you turn it back on. If you want to delete them, use “delete” or “delete all”, which work even with memory turned off.
- You can also withdraw your permission for memory. The immediate effect is the same as turning it off; to use it again, the app asks for your permission again.
- When you turn it back on, the app shows you the memories that will be used again before you confirm.
6. How long we keep them
- Confirmed memories: until you delete them or delete your account.
- Suggestions: unconfirmed ones expire after 7 days; those already answered or expired are deleted 30 days later.
- What has already been sent to the artificial intelligence provider to generate an answer cannot be withdrawn by us afterwards; the provider processes that data under its own rules and its contract with us.
The other retention periods are in section 8 of the Privacy Policy.
7. Legal basis and security
Memory depends on your consent (Brazilian General Data Protection Law, LGPD, art. 7, I). Since a memory may contain sensitive data, such as health information, this consent is specific and prominent (art. 11, I). You can withdraw it at any time, without affecting the rest of the app.
Memories are encrypted with a key that belongs to your account and kept separate for each person in the database. Our team has no screen for reading them. They are included in the export of your data and are deleted when the account is deleted.
The guide is an educational self-care feature and does not replace professional care. If you are in crisis or thinking about hurting yourself, get help right away: contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country, or go to the nearest emergency room. In Brazil, call 188 (CVV, 24 hours, free of charge) or 192 (SAMU).
